This summer, the University of Oxford's Department of Continuing Education will host the Oxford Statistical Genomics Summer School, aimed at uniting researchers from both academia and industry. The course will take place at St Hilda's College, Oxford. The course is co-sponsored and organised by the Leverhulme Center for Demographic Science.
Instruction and practicals will be offered by leading experts from the Big Data Institute, Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics, and the Department of Statistics.
The course plans to cover five major topics in Statistical Genomics:
- Next-generation Sequence Data Analysis
- Gene and Variant Association Testing
- Genomics of Infectious Diseases
- Genealogical Inference and Analysis, &
- Medical Genomics
The itinerary also includes covering such critical topics as imputation and handling batch effects. The course lasts for 6 days and ends with a Gala Farewell Dinner.
