We are looking for a creative, inspirational and driven Media and Communications Officer to join the newly launched Leverhulme Centre for Demographic Science (LCDS), an interdisciplinary centre located within the Department of Sociology to lead and develop communications for the Centre. The Centre is committed to work-life balance and flexible working opportunities.
This is a unique opportunity and the Media and Communications Officer will play a key leadership role in setting up, developing and establishing the LCDS’ communications strategy, ensuring that the different target audiences have a clear understanding of the key activities and research achievements of the Centre. The post holder will be instrumental in producing multiple mediums of creative and disruptive communications including dissemination through social media, blogs, podcasts and films.
Applicants should hold a Master’s degree level or equivalent professional experience. Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating strategic development plans with long-term vision and sustainability; excellent communication skills with high level of attention to detail and the ability to tailor communications for different audiences and through various channels are essential for this post. Experience working in a research or fast-paced environmentwould be desirable.
This is a full time, and in the first instance, a fixed term appointment starting as soon as possible for 3 years, with Centre funding in place until 2029.
Salary on the scale within the range of Grade 7: £32,817 - £40,322 per annum (with a discretionary range to £44,045 p.a.)
